These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the GUIDE mobile application and any related services (collectively, the "App"), operated by GUIDE ("GUIDE", "we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account, accessing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the App.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use the App. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you are 18 years of age or older, that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms, and that you are not barred from using the App under the laws of your jurisdiction. We may ask you to verify your age or identity at any time and may suspend or terminate accounts that we believe belong to individuals under 18.
To use most features of the App, you must register an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep it up to date. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at tech-user@guide-dating.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your account. You may not create more than one account, impersonate any person or entity, or create an account on behalf of someone else without permission.
GUIDE is a dating application that uses artificial intelligence to help users identify compatible matches based on values, lifestyle preferences, and other information users choose to share. The App may include, among other features: an AI assistant chat, an onboarding process to collect user preferences and traits, personal profile cards (which may include photos, audio, and video), a matching system that connects users with potential matches on a periodic basis, and messaging tools for users who have been matched. Features, availability, and matching frequency may change at any time and are not guaranteed.
The App includes an AI-powered assistant that communicates with you via text and voice, helps collect information for matching purposes, answers questions about the App, and may perform certain actions on your behalf when you request or authorize it to do so (for example, ending a conversation with another user or updating parts of your profile). The AI assistant's responses are generated automatically and may occasionally be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate. You should not rely on the AI assistant for professional, medical, legal, financial, or emotional/crisis advice. We are not responsible for decisions you make based on AI-generated content.
"User Content" means any information, text, photos, audio, video, or other material you submit or generate through the App, including profile cards, "about me" text, and messages. You retain ownership of your User Content, but by submitting it you grant GUIDE a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute it as necessary to operate and provide the App (including showing your profile to other users you are matched with).
You represent that you own or have the necessary rights to all User Content you submit, that it does not infringe any third party's rights, and that it complies with these Terms and applicable law. You are solely responsible for your User Content. We may, but are not obligated to, review, moderate, or remove User Content at our discretion, including content flagged through user reports.

We rely on user reports and our own review to enforce these rules, but we cannot verify the identity, background, or intentions of every user. Please use the in-app "report user" feature to flag any behavior that violates these Terms.
Matches are generated periodically using an automated matching process based on information you provide and your activity in the App. We do not guarantee that you will receive a match within any particular timeframe, that any match will be compatible with you, or that a fixed number of matches will be provided. Unused matches may expire or be archived if there is no mutual engagement within the timeframe indicated in the App.
Any interactions, communications, meetings, or relationships you have with other users, whether through the App or in person, are solely between you and that user. GUIDE is not a party to those interactions and has no control over the conduct of any user.
GUIDE does not conduct criminal background checks on its users and cannot confirm that the information users provide about themselves is truthful or accurate. You are solely responsible for your own safety when interacting with other users, whether online or in person. We strongly recommend that you:
To the maximum extent permitted by law, GUIDE disclaims any responsibility or liability for the conduct of any user, on or off the App.
Certain features of the App may be offered as paid subscriptions, processed through the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or another authorized payment processor (including RevenueCat as our subscription management provider). Subscription prices, billing cycles, free trial terms, and cancellation policies will be disclosed at the point of purchase and are also governed by the applicable app store's terms. Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled before the end of the current billing period, in accordance with the app store account settings. We do not process or store your payment card details directly.
The App, including its design, text, graphics, logos, software, and all other content that we provide (excluding User Content), is owned by GUIDE or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
The App relies on third-party service providers, which may include cloud hosting and database services (Supabase), AI service providers (OpenAI), subscription management (RevenueCat), and other infrastructure providers. Your use of the App may be subject to those providers' own terms and privacy practices to the extent applicable. We are not responsible for the availability or performance of third-party services outside our control.
We may suspend or terminate your account or access to the App at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms, engaged in fraudulent or unsafe behavior, or for any other reason at our discretion, including discontinuation of the App. You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time through the settings in the App or by contacting us. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply.
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE. WE DO NOT WARRANT THE ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, OR RELIABILITY OF ANY CONTENT, MATCHING RESULTS, OR AI-GENERATED OUTPUT PROVIDED THROUGH THE APP, OR THE CONDUCT OF ANY USER, ON OR OFF THE APP.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GUIDE AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND PARTNERS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO ACCESS OR USE, THE APP, OR FROM ANY CONDUCT OF ANY USER OF THE APP, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF [USD 100] OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US, IF ANY, IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless GUIDE and its officers, employees, and partners from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the App, your User Content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another person or entity.
These Terms are governed by the laws of [Governing Jurisdiction], without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the App shall be resolved in the courts located in [Venue/Jurisdiction], and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or by other reasonable means before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the App after the changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
